second half of first square
Ok, so I left you off at the center, where you just worked three rows without an increase. You will now be decreasing each row:

Now, at this point, you want to weave in the ends of the mc yarn, hiding them well. You then want to look at your square, cast on point "down", and determine which side is the "front" and which side is the "back". There are no nice clean straight lines between the mc and the A - this is because there are no nice clean straight lines on any cat I've ever met :).
Once you have determined which way you want your square to be, mark the top left hand edge. This is where I'll be going next with the directions. I've been out today, and was able to buy some black yarn, which is needed for the next part. Of course, if you have decided to make a one colour afghan, your square will be solid, and it won't matter which side you pick for the front.
Oh, and you could probably weave in the cast on and off tails, too, if you wanted to :)
